Lozère is a department of Languedoc-Roussillon situated in the southeast Massif Central.

It is a largely unspoiled department and the main activities are farming and tourism. Tourist activities include caving and a variety of sports, such as skiing and kayaking.

Lozère also includes a part of the Cévennes National Park - an area with the heaviest rainfall in France.

It is considered one of the best areas in France for trout fishing and rivers such as the Lot, Tarn and Truyère are particularly noted for their trout populations.
